- The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced that Canada is imposing additional sanctions against 7 individuals under the Special Economic Measures (Iran) Regulations.
- Canada will continue to respond decisively to the Islamic Republic of Iran's efforts to use repression and violence beyond its borders as well as against its own people.
- Alongside its like-minded partners, Canada is implementing these sanctions to address Iran's use of transnational repression, violence and repressive tactics.
- The individuals sanctioned today are linked to Iranian state bodies responsible for intimidation, violence and transnational repression targeting Iranian dissidents and human rights defenders.
- Iran's use of proxy agents and criminal networks to silence critics—including through harassment, surveillance and planned acts of violence in Europe and North America—has raised serious concerns among Canada and like-minded partners.

- With these latest measures, Canada has now sanctioned 222 Iranian individuals and 256 Iranian entities.
